Sigma has helped Australia’s leading B2C cosmetics and prestigious makeup brand to migrate from Magento 1 Enterprise, an extensively customized ecommerce system, to Shopify Plus.

Business Needs And Challenges

Key business needs and challenges moving over to Shopify Plus.

The Magento 1 Enterprise and Shopify Plus were different in terms of code and required a whole new set of plans for Tech shift.
Client’s existing system Magento 1 Enterprise was extremely customized and this migration also required moving the Third party Gift Card Module.
The Client needed Shopify and the POS integration for sound order management and to sync the inventory.
Implementing Click & Collect and Uber shipping methods.

Enabling customization for discounts and applying relevant shipping rules at checkout.
Custom promotions to offer discounts on the spot or bundle items.
Adding gift with purchase (GWP) offers.
Primsic (Headless CMS or API CMS) integration was also a challenging task, using React may have impacted the entire SEO.

Solutions

Based on the Client’s need, Sigma seamlessly migrates their Magento 1 Enterprise eCommerce store to Shopify Plus:

We used the Cart2Cart migration tool to ensure that critical attributes are matching even after the migration completes.
Sigma developed a private APP for Third party gift card integration with existing gift card functionality of Shopify plus.
We offered an exclusive ERP integration to the client using Celigo.
We used customized checkout templates to implement click & collect and uber shipping methods.

With customized checkout, we offered additional features to add custom notices and other updates related to logistics.
We wrote custom Ruby scripts using Script Editor to achieve advanced custom promotions for our client.
We implemented GWP offers for the client using Shopify AJAX APIs.
For Prismic integration, we used Prismic webhooks to sync the data to metafields and rendered the data using metafields.

The Admin/Staff are now able to install and test 80% to 90% of the APPs without developer support.

They can now easily execute and build the custom promotions with scripts.
Platform upgrades with very minimal or without downtime.
Product updates, theme updates, promotions can be scheduled using Launchpad APP.
